“The human story of refugees is less about the horrors of war and the escape to freedom than it is about refugees’ struggles, perseverance and achievement of dreams.”

- Pham Thi Hoa, CAPI, Twin Cities World Refugee Day

Thank you!

Thank you all so much for your time, generosity, and passion for Hamline University’s Better Together + Taking Root collaboration. Thank you for your time, your generosity, your donations, your volunteering, your words, and your support.

I’d like to share this link with you. http://multifaithalliance.wordpress.com/2011/04/18/better-together-looking-back/

“Better Together: Looking Back” charts our events from November’s What If Speak-In through April’s Better Together + Taking Root Finale. “Looking Back” showcases our photos, videos, memories, and more. We’ve also included our final numbers of donations, welcome kits, service hours, and the families we have helped to make a better life. If you’ve ever been interested to see what we’ve done, click the link and be proud of our interfaith collaboration!
As we conclude our campaign, I feel like Hamline University finally understands the real value of asking questions, rocking the boat, changing the narrative, and working together for the common good. Now, the groundwork is set for future interfaith collaborations. Now, we can truly move forward together and make Hamline University a centerpiece of interfaith service.

Thank you all for your part in it, and I hope you’ll join us for next year’s events! We are currently working with the Interfaith Council and The President’s Interfaith and Community Service Campus Challenge to plan next year’s Better Together campaign. See you then!

The Better Together + Taking Root campaign: because refugees come to Minnesota to make a better life, and because our religious and nonreligious traditions can help them do it.
